I just noticed that Bard has "chats" and will store the persona inside each chat. Do you feel like ChatGPT personas are better? I didn't see this feature in their list of updates https://bard.google.com/updates but I don't feel like I've seen it before. What are your thoughts?

Greg! So sorry for the delay here. Persona's are quite a multi-defined word right now that is being used by different people in different situations in completely different ways. That said, ultimately, what folx are trying to do is get a professional perspective on a given topic. From that definition, then yes I feel chatGPT has a much higher computational/logical response to prompts based on personas. Not to say that this won't change in the future, but as of now the level of outputs and relevancy in cGPT is 'better'. The best way that you can test this is to take a topic that you are highly knowledgable about, build the same persona in both platforms and ask it the same question (that you already know the answer to). Then see from your professional perspective which has a 'better' response. Then take it a step further and chain prompt it in both platforms! Thanks again for you always thoughtful and engaging questions!

Hi Greg,

The sidebar conversations feature for Bard was introduced in an update in mid-July. Now, Bard, Claude, and ChatGPT all include this functionality.

As generative AI tools evolve rapidly, I find myself selecting different ones based on my specific needs.

Claude excels in producing longer, nuanced responses and shines when generating storytelling content. However, it struggles with personas. While it recognizes information from the conversation, it only sometimes references it accurately when prompted.

The capacity to handle lengthy documents and upload files (up to 5 files, with a 10MB limit per prompt) is convenient for summarizing vast data or crafting extended content.

Bard's ability to pull from the internet and offer responses based on the latest information is a big feature. This comes in particularly handy when ChatGPT's internet plug-ins are down. However, when it comes to personas, Bard tends to offer more general answers.

I predominantly use ChatGPT 4 (with a paid pro account). It's unrivaled when it comes to generating precise answers after training with an AI Persona. The plug-in capabilities and the Code Interpreter mode enhance its utility further.
