Hi!
This was supposed to be a shorter segment and I was supposed to sound better (rookie mistakes and technical difficulties) and taller (genetics)… but that’s not the case. All that said, we do get into some interesting updates on the domain of language models and AI.
What's New in Language Models
ChatGPT took the world by storm after launching last November. But there are lots of other exciting language models emerging that aim to improve on or find different niches than ChatGPT.
In this newsletter, we’ll look at some of the new players:
Claude by Anthropic is focused on being more ethical and upbeat.
LLaMA from Meta API driven.
Relative ‘old’ players:
ChatGPT OpenAI improvements.
Bard from Google improvements.
How Chatbots Compare
As you’ll hear in our podcast, ChatGPT remains the gold standard for personas and supporting/evolving existing work streams. Google’s Bard aims to provide more factual, informative responses. Claude has tighter guardrails for safety and morality and seems more creative. LLaMA claims more grounded conversations.
Each chatbot has strengths based on its data and goals, and we can expect rapid iterations as limitations are addressed.
Enhancing ChatGPT
Add-ons and plugins expand what ChatGPT can do (check out plugin.surf)
Analyze data, create graphs, compare images
Summarize YouTube and web pages
Improve responses by adjusting settings and memory
